Pause for Thought

When I travelled in my youth, I would take heed of random coincidences that would come my way and seek out some meaning in them; as though a sign from the universe was presenting itself.

This summer I visited Florence and, guiding my family around the beautiful city, I experienced a coincidence that was reminiscent of one such ‘sign’.

We had just visited the Leonardo Interactive Museum and had spent a long time discussing the man’s remarkable work and talents.

The following day, I randomly came across a quote of his teaching in some holiday reading (Brigid Schulte’s insightful book, Overwhelmed: Work, Love & Play When No One Has the Time).

The coincidence made me do a double-take, and on reading the quote, I recognised the value of his wisdom from a work-life balance perspective.

I haven’t spent much time blogging over the summer holidays this year; certainly not compared to last summer, when I had just launched my podcast. The hiatus has allowed some conclusions to rise out of the many stories I’ve heard and shared. Hopefully it will afford some clarity for more to be accomplished.

Have you ever experienced achieving more by working less?
