It’s that time of year again…
A few years ago, I downloaded a workbook from Lyrical Host, the company I use to host my blog. It prompts reflections on the past year to review website activity and plan ahead.
Since then I’ve launched a podcast too, so I add my podcasting activity into my review too.

Each year I like to take some time to fill this in, looking back on the year that’s passed and setting goals for the year ahead.
Coffee is essential.
My blog keeps ticking along, is visited every day by people from all over the world, which still blows my mind. I have some ambitions to develop it, but limited time and budget to invest in it further immediately.
Meanwhile, the podcast is my primary focus for 2025 and I’ve kick-started the year with a little make-over.
The updated artwork features a simpler, stripped-back design and refreshed tag-line: “Work-Life Balance Confessions: Stories and Lessons to Enlighten and Inspire”.

What else is new, I hear you ask…?
Well, sticking with the notion of “confessions”, this year I’m going to be dedicating some solo episodes to the work-life balance stories of people that wish to remain anonymous.
Often the people most willing to open up on the podcast are those who have found their work-life balance “sweet spot”, though we all know that juggling work with everything else in life isn’t plain sailing all of the time. Before launching my podcast, I would interview people in confidence and write up their stories. Many of them chose to remain anonymous for various reasons.
These were some of the most profound, introspective stories I covered, and in turn they attracted a lot of readers, who I think found some clarity and validation through the honest and vulnerable accounts of the challenges and joys of not feeling entirely “balanced”.
I hope that sharing these stories, in addition to guest interviews, and Work, Life, Balance Lessons segments, will encourage more people to come forward and convey the good, the bad and the ugly sides of the pursuit of balance. If this is something that interests you, please get in touch in the usual ways.
Wishing all my readers and listeners a great year ahead and many fulfilling and successful moments of contented balance, whatever that means to you.
